Export Jira issues to Word, Excel, and PDF
Weekly status packs and stakeholder packs should not mean copy-paste from Jira into a blank document. Start from a filter or board, pick fields and a template, then download a clean file you can send.

01 — The gap
Why native export falls short for stakeholders
Jira’s CSV export is fine for data work. Stakeholders want Word or PDF with the fields they care about, in a layout that matches last week’s pack. Rebuilding that by hand every Friday burns hours and introduces mistakes.
02 — What buyers usually want
Source → fields → template → download
- Pick a source — JQL, saved filter, or board so the export matches the view people already use.
- Choose fields — only the columns the pack needs, not every custom field on the site.
- Use a template — built-in Word layouts or upload your own DOCX for brand-consistent packs.
- Download Excel, Word, CSV, or PDF in the browser without a separate middleware server.
- Repeat next week with the same source and template so the ritual stays cheap.
03 — Tooling
Document Exporter for Jira
Document Exporter for Jira is a Forge app for Jira Cloud exports from JQL, filters, and boards. It is not a full Configuration Manager or BI warehouse — it is the stakeholder-pack exporter for issue lists.
